TODAY'S
PHOTO -
scattered pine needles on concrete at Wakodahatchee
Wetlands.
Today's photo is quite different from the colorful
and dramatic looking ones in the other Issues of
Picture to Ponder this week. And, though the imagery
is totally different, the theme of looking down
and creating openings remains the same.
As Sam and I were walking in Wakodahatchee, I suddenly
got caught up looking at the scattered pine needles.
In the random grouping of the one shown above, I
immediately saw a cartoon character whose name eludes
me.
As we look at her, she is facing to the left. She
has a very large, drawn out chin and her hair, mostly
by suggestion, is a short, sharply-cut bob, coming
across to our right, from the chin line.
Briefly when I viewed the photo on the monitor,
I saw a bird with very long legs facing right. Sam
sees it as a nautical map of underwater activity.
And you...?
This particular walk in Wakodahatchee will stay
with me because it reminded me that all I have to
do when I'm in a "funk", which I was that
day, is take a walk with my camera and start looking
around me, outside myself. I come away with a whole
new enlivened energy.
That day I also took a lot of photos of Wood Knots,
remembering that I've often thought of playing with
"The Wood Knots would not..." Watch for
at least one Wood Knot... next week.
Now I invite you to notice what YOU can find to
do to cause shifts when your mind is cluttered with
thoughts, particularly ones that you don't particularly
appreciate.
May you have a weekend of enlivened thoughts, images
and activities.
READER COMMENTS ON THE
LAST ISSUE - Issue
113
"I immediately thought of Judy Chicago too,
although I couldnt remember her name. These
last two photos remind me of sumptuous travel magazine
shots" Gretchen Little. Thanks Gretchen,
I appreciate.
"I think one of the things I like, too, is
the different perspective of the photos , this and
the other one - too [the 2 buffet
photos-Issues112 and 113].
It is like how I like to stand underneath
trees and take their Picture, from their heart rather
than from outside.
I was just reminded of
the Passionate Prosperity lesson Which includes
the lyrics from Both Sides Now - looking AT the
clouds is not understanding the clouds, intimately.
Now getting INSIDE the clouds... THAT is the way
to know them." Julie
Jordan Scott
COMMENT on the READER COMMENTS
"In my attempt to have you chuckle some
more, I decided to comment on Julies comment
about the image of a cross on the table
cloth I see it too and with no
thoughts of religious significance one way or the
other I recognize it as a shadow cast by
the sky-lighted structure that serves as a roof
over the atrium.
Starting tomorrow; however, I promise to stop acting
as an engineer because I can also exude warmth (e.g.
my comments about the water dripping from the herons
beak)." [photo in Issue
92, comments on it in Issue
93] Bob Tatem. I replied to Bob, letting
him know that I truly value his engineer's perspective.
I assume many of you do also.
