TODAY'S PHOTO -
an Anhinga in Wakodahatchee Wetlands, with a large fish in his mouth.

When walking the other night I was delighted to discover the anhinga swimming with the large fish in his mouth. Evidently it was too large for simply swallowing, so the bird took it to a "rest" area, where, after more grappling, he finally put it down on the wood. Since I did not have my binoculars with me I do not know the ultimate outcome with the fish.

I include both photos today for the fun of it. I also appreciate the lower photo for the aesthetics of it. For the long-time subscribers who were accustomed to my seeing faces in everything, I do see the seeming critter with a wide-open mouth to the lower left of the anhinga. It's nothing more than the effect of the late day lighting on the wood.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
In the scenario above, to "humanize" it, the anhinga was challenged with something larger than what he ordinarily handled. He held on to it and was able to take it to another spot for consideration of a solution.

Is there challenge you are facing now that seems bigger than the usual? If so, is there a place you can rest it, where you can consider other options? Are there tools available that you can bring in to assist you in breaking it into "bite-size" pieces? Are there one or more persons whom you can enroll in assisting you with this? If so, are you ready to take action?

I'm sitting here shaking my head, wondering how an anhinga with a fish turned into a people lesson. Wonder what he would say about it all.

Wishing you humor and finding something you've never seen before. Have fun.
