Today's photo comes to you with fun in the air. This Macaw is very playful and is always investigating and into things. I've seen her coming up with something under a railing to chew on and have photos of her last year chewing on a Kodak film box.

"She is one of the most photographed birds at Wakodahatchee," according to her proud owner Stewart, a disabled Vietnam veteran who, in his wheelchair, visits Wako weekly. I don't doubt Stewart's estimate, given I've probably taken hundreds of shots of her myself.

When I finally asked Stewart this past week how one can identify whether a Macaw is male or female, his response was, "I've never had her tested. I only know that she loves jewelry!"
