TODAY'S
PHOTO -
Floridian puffy white clouds.
Beautiful clouds and bright blue skies have graced
us here in our section of Florida the past day and
a half. There actually was a newspaper article several
months ago explaining the specialness of the Florida
clouds. The "facts" have disappeared from
my memory and what remains is the beauty of the clouds
we see so often and the reminder that I do, in fact,
live in a special place.
It was the Florida clouds
that were one of the benefits of moving down here,
our daughter-in-law Kevra, pointed out as I commented
on them while we were driving to their home from
the airport, almost 3 years ago. We had come down
with mixed-emotions around our intention to find
a home, leaving the one we had been in NJ for 37
years!
I would think that most of you, at one point or
another in your lives, have played a "Cloud
Game", looking for faces and images in clouds
AND I chose today's
photo simply for the overall feeling of the blue
sky and the clouds.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Where in your life are there visual spaces, even
if infrequent, that give you joy for living where
you do? If in a negative space, what positives can
you find there that would empower you?

"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..peachy. Reminds
me of my prom dress in 1978 :~)" - Debra
Schanilec .
"Oh this is lovely." Melanie Forbes
"This is gorgeous, and so is the full view.
Usually I prefer the one you've cropped, but these
are both fantastic. I'm amazed at how much I like
the color. Orange is not a favorite, but this is
such a soft, attractive orange.
Shortly after viewing this photo, I opened and read
Jill Badonsky's "A Vist from the Muse"
for June 2005. It contained the following Georgia
O'Keefe quote: "If you take a flower in
your hand and really look at it, it's your world
for the moment." Certainly I can be lost
in this world for several moments." - Mary
Gray
"I enjoyed the hibiscus, especially appreciating
your offering a partial image. I love to view through
two lenses: my eyes open and then with my eyes squihttnting
so I can better view the hues and shades. That's
what I did several times over. That's how I sometimes
gain inspiration for a quilting project!"
- Steven Grubman Black
"Really liked the full version. We only
have white and pink hibiscus in Mother's flower
bed. Also the plants are just starting to grow here
in the Northwest. Must be really great for a photographer
as yourself to have all the flowers available
year round in Florida.
Ours must be a different variety -- because they
don't have as many petals. The flowers only bloom
for one day but totally awe inspiring. I especially
love the seed pods." Judith
