Volume 1 - Number 178

TODAY'S PHOTO -
a sun hat with shadows cast by the sun going through the openings in the hat.

Sam Finkelstein shot, developed and printed this dramatic photo of me more than 30 years ago and it's timeless. I thought of the image yesterday as I was reflecting on hats in Issue 177 and so, as promised, I share it with you today.

Today, with no further comments from me, I let the photo speak to you in whatever way it does.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES
-
A couple of thoughts come up as I reflect on possible queries for today. We could go with the wide brim which despite it softness suggests protection. Oftentimes we think we are protected and are we really?

Or, we could reflect on the shadows. To me the word "shadows" connotes the possibility of danger. And, in art, shadows often help define and give meaning to the subject.

What imagery comes up for you when you think of "shadows?" I invite you to write and/or draw, paint, photograph, if you wish. I also suggest that you spend some time looking for shadows cast by any kind of light, in addition to sunlight.

And, as always, have fun!

READERS' RESPONSES -
One of our subscribers, whose permission I'm awaiting to use his name, wrote a very poignant response yesterday with his own hat story. To read it, go to ARMY HAT .

If anyone else has a hat story you'd like to share, I will add it to the PTP Response pages, if you wish. Email it, along with a photo if you have, to me with permission to use your name.

AUDIO TESTIMONIALS -
Have you yet checked out the 28 second message from Sondra,

who shares the impact on her life of a custom photo/drawing of her father done by me?

Have you listened to Judith Tramayne-Barth and Renee Kleckner on our AUDIO LINKS page, where Judith also describes how easy it is to record a message? I'd love to have your voice there also. A sentence or two is more than enough, if you are person of a few words.

I will publish the link for yours in Picture to Ponder and on the testimonial page on the eteletours site. You can call in yourself at (214) 231-2905 ext 6956 or, if you wish, e-mail me to set a time and I can call you and 3-way you in and simply listen while you talk.
