TODAY'S PHOTO
-
table set for 8 in the atrium of a hotel.
As we walked around the 5th floor indoor balcony of
the hotel where we were visiting family this weekend,
I glanced down, right onto the Sunday buffet brunch
that was being prepared and eaten at a couple of tables.
I was immediately intrigued with many of the images,
the patterns they made and the contrasts with the
patterns in the rug and the lines on the floor. See
FULLER
VIEW.
I chose this particular image for its order, patterns,
repetition, rhythm and starkness. It could be almost
anything. Sam, at a fast glance, thought it was a
sun dial. It also has the feeling of a clock, for
me, or perhaps a watch with all of its precision parts.
For the writers among you, who is expected at this
table? What is being celebrated? And, I notice, there
is a wider opening at the front of the table. Who
or what will be coming in there?
As I was writing today's issue I read an email that
it is my Scottish friend Maria's birthday. Maria is
one of our avid supporters who sends in comments from
time to time. Friday our younger son turns 40 and
his wife becomes 40 on Monday. I am therefore dedicating
"Table for 8" to them and to all June birthdays
and celebrations. Have fun.
READER COMMENTS ON THE LAST ISSUE - Issue

Very
funky sunrise - those wisps of clouds or mist or whatever
it is, is spooky!" Debra
Schanilec
Interesting response, the "spooky." Although
I said I was in awe of the photo, it was the experience
of the sunrise whose colors were actually quite different
from what came out in most of the photographs. I suspect
that this is because I was focussed on the sun. To
get a feel for the colors that I saw, click on BLURRED
SUNRISE, a photo I took while the car was moving.
"One of the clouds kind of looks like a cat's
head to me. There are even 'markings' where the eyes
might be. I can't figure out what they are. Birds???
Just dark edging on the clouds? They're too high to
be the plant that's at the bottom of the photo."
Mary Gray
It's possible that there are still some faint
lines remaining from the telephone wires that I digitally
removed, though I thought I got them all out.
"Sunrise on Hagen Ranch Road looks, to my eyes,
as a lava flow down the mountainside. Guess I have
too many volcanoes on my mind since I just got back
from Hawaii. Spectacular colors, it can be anything
your mind's eye makes it." Toby Blender
I love all of the different perceptions and perspectives.
Thank you for sharing yours.

being Offered by Friends of Picture to Ponder
LAST CHANCE for TAPPING THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF
ANGER
4 Sessions, starting tomorrow, Thursday, June
2 at Noon, EST. This hour class on the phone will
be led by Adela Rubio who is also a masterful facilitator.
She states:
"Remember the last time you were angry . . .
How would your life be different if you could access
that energy to inform your actions? What if our bodies,
in their immense intelligence, were trying to stir
us into awareness and that awareness was information
about our passion. See what is happening
when you are gripped in the throes of anger, recognize
what is simmering beneath the surface, and step into
the power that is awaiting to be accessed."
for more information on Adela and the course and
