TODAY'S
PHOTO -
a photo drawing of an old chair in Edith's garden.
This image of Garden
Chair keeps cropping up for me since yesterday when
I first selected a Nature's
Playground photo drawing to share with you. So
I am honoring "her" request and featuring
it today.
This chair was on the grounds of a lovely home where
we were invited to spend July 4th, four or five years
ago. Behind the chair is an old porcelain sink filled
with plants. I bring it to you to rest on or, to simply
enjoy, when you'd like to take a few quiet moments
away from the rest of your day.
There is, of course, a story to the chair. At the
time we did not know the owners and, actually did
not see them again for another year, when I called
Edith to thank her and gift her with note cards and
a print of the chair which, in the interim, had given
so many other people pleasure.
Some very important memorable
things resulted from my action. Edith no longer had
the chair and it held special memories of the dear,
departed friend who had given it to her. Interestingly
my call to Edith came on the anniversary of that friend's
birth and Edith was thrilled to now have a piece of
art to reinforce her memories.
Perhaps I'll write an article on some of the rest
of the experiences. Suffice it here to add that Edith
and her husband, were among those people who were
so generous and helpful to us in our final packing
stages of our move from New Jersey to Florida.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
It seems that I am on an "acknowledgement"
roll this week. With the story of Edith and her husband
Bob in mind, are there people with whom you have not
spoken in a while who have made a difference for you;
people whom you've never directly acknowledged for
that difference. If so, what actions can you take
now?
Why not take it on today or this week? Be prepared
for some amazing things that may result AND do not
take this on for the results.
I will call Edith in the next day or two. She does
not use e-mail and it may be close to a year since
I have spoken to her. I look forward to that conversation.
