TODAY'S PHOTO -
sunrise at Delray Beach on July 4th
This is the fisherman whose second net we saw yesterday
lying on the beach. Ordinarily if I'm using sunrise/sunset
photos I'll end the week with a sunset.
In this case let's greet the weekend with a sunrise.
Perhaps some of you who would not usually do so
will be inspired, if the weather forecast is clear,to
get up early one of the next two days and experience
your own sunrise.
In the meantime allow yourself to be with this one
without any descriptive thoughts or responses from
me.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES
-
Yesterday, Debra Schanilec wrote to me wondering
why the net in the NATUR-al Collage, as I termed
it, was left behind. She also referred to the fisherman
as a litterbug.
I realized immediately that I had not been clear
in my communication and hers was a very logical
assumption. I had never mentioned that the fisherman
was in the water with another net or said anything
about him, so I'm giving him to you here today.
This reminded me that I often start conversations
from the middle of my thoughts and people don't
always know what I am talking about. In other words,
I might be thinking about something, including having
an internal monologue, and at some point I open
my mouth and start talking. It never even occurs
to me that the person(s) with whom I am speaking
did not hear what came before.
Sometimes this can create confusion and misunderstandings.
Can you relate to this experience? Take some time
this weekend to pay attention to the words that
are coming out of your mouth. Are they clear? Could
you answer, if asked, "and the point is?"
You might have some fun asking people to repeat
back what you said or what they thought you said.
Play with it. Enjoy and have a great weekend.
