water lilies and reflection in the Amazonica Tropical Pool at Fairchild Gardens

TODAY'S PHOTO -
tropical waterlily pond in Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Looking like a painting, this is a photograph of waterliles, their reflections and leaf pads dramatized by
the reflection of an orange Chihuly glass globe. The was one of many pieces of his work floating in Fairchild's "Victoria Amazonica Pool."

Sam and I went to Fairchild earlier this week to see the glass sculpture of Dale Chihuly, who states, "I want my work to appear like it came from nature." And so it does in all the pieces in this exhibit created specifically to be integrated with the plants at Fairchild.

It is a breathtakingly beautiful exhibit and I thank those of you subscribers who enouraged our going. I will share a couple of the sculpture photos in a few of the next issues of Picture to Ponder.

For today's photo, I had intended to feature a little green heron on its nest with 4 eggs. Then last night, when I was looking at photos of the sculptures and plants to upload for the Photo Creativity Class participants, I fell in love with the above scene. There is an energy, yet a peacefulness to it, that I wanted to share with you as we go into the weekend.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -

For today, my thoughts are filled with different projects I am undertaking and on which I need to be focussing, so I am leaving the SRQs up to you to create for yourselves.

They might be around shifting plans, as I did with the photos today, and how you are with that as the executor, how you be with the recipients and/or how you are on receiving end of changed plans.

Hmmm. I was about to change shifting "plans" to "intentions" so I would not be using the word plan twice in the same paragraph and I realized my "intention" of featuring inspirational photos had not changed. I had simply switched to a different photo.

Once more I'm reminded that the path to clarity is checking in with ourselves on intentions or our commitments. Are you clear on yours? Are they written down? Where do you keep them? I'm needing to keep some of mine more visible and present for myself.

Well, it looks likes my fingers and keyboard came up with some queries after all. Have a great weekend.
