Volume 2 - Number 2

horse and carriage and car in Delray Beach at night
TODAY'S PHOTO -
a moving car, behind a horse drawn carriage in Delray Beach, FL at night.

T
his past Friday evening we took our visiting great-nieces to see Delray. The town was alive with activity and energy created by crowds of people strolling in the streets and eating outside many of the restaurants. Several had live music playing. I was particularly taken with the horse and carriage I saw a few times.

In attempting to capture it with my camera, the movement of the carriage and the car behind it, as well as the lack of a tripod to hold the camera steady in the low light, created this blurred photo.

Disappointed initially, I fell in love with the photo because of the colors and energy of the movement emanating from it. I am particularly attracted to the greens and gold of the building and the repetition of the flashes of light throughout it. For me, it also has the feeling of a wonderful abstract painting.

For those who find this photo appealing or intriguing, I created a page with this and 3 similar from the same night. See Delray in Motion.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
When I first saw today's photo and the others, after downloading them to my computer, I was attempted to delete them. They were simply mistakes and out-of-focus photos.

As I revisited them I experienced the pleasure of them, particularly the one above, and whole new possibilities opened up for me, including use in Picture to Ponder.

Have you experienced any "mistakes" recently which you might revisit? If you look at them with new eyes, are there new possibilities that you can create. Are there "mistakes" from the past that might warrant the same attention?

I also invite you to pause for a moment or two and look again for other possibilities that might be in"mistakes" that occur in the next few days.

As always, have fun with this.
