This flower and the heart-shaped leaves bring Happy Valentine's Day greetings to those of you who celebrate it. To all they offer love.
I've actually had this particular photo as the desktop image on my computer monitor for over a week. I've been enjoying the peacefulness of the whole scene and wanted to share the experience with you.
I did not even notice the heart-shaped leaves until I got a Valentine's email, as I was putting this together. I had the quick thought, "Should I be doing a Valentine's message?" And, then I noticed the leaves' shapes. "Perfect!"
As contrasted with this full scene, another tropical water lily flower, also from the AOS gardens, was featured in Issue 6 of Picture to Ponder, in December, more than a year ago. That flower became one of the top favorites for the year. A photo drawing of it is on prints in our gift shop.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
I've been planning to digitally move the flower over, so it's not so distracting. Then, while viewing it yesterday, I was reminded that this was simply one more situation where "perfectionism" was blocking me from acting.
I reflected on my original intention - to share the serenity of the scene. The exact position of the flower will not greatly alter that. And, so I give it to you today.
I invite you to look to see if there are places you are stuck right now, waiting for something to be "perfect" about it, or even working and reworking it until it's "truly perfect."
I then suggest that you examine your overall intention around it. Can you fulfill on that without "perfect?" Will you be forwarding yourself and, perhaps, others by acting NOW? If so, I invite you to take the action.
Experience and enjoy the freedom of it!
