Today's Picture to Ponder Photo
White Orchids from the American Orchid Society Greenhouse

When I started searching my files for a photo for today, these orchids popped out at me, begging to be featured. There is a feeling of richness, enhanced I think by the drama of the lighting.

The light is undoubtedly emphasized by the very direct angle of the stake that's supporting the orchid. The barely visible stem is the darker part of the line we see.

Self-Reflecting Queries
As I was writing the last sentences I began to think of the support sysems that may be in our own individual lives. These could be among family, friends, colleagues or other activities we take on.

Can you think of who or what they are, or have been, in your life? Do you know to which lights in you they've pointed? What have they directed you and others to see?

One of the things that often makes photographing orchids difficult for me is that so often the flowers are supported by stakes. Thus getting clear, unencumbered pictures
can become quite challenging at times, sometimes impossible.

As I comment on this, I begin to wonder now how many times, in my own life, I might have considered the supports, or "stakes" to be "nuisances." What would have been available had I look for the reflective light that was shining from them onto me?

Does any of this resonate with you? If so, take some time to be with it, to see if there are places where shifts can be made, and, above all, please take time to acknowledge those supports
.

I often find peace and healing when I open up a flower photo, larger than can be used in Picture to Ponder, and spend time
being with and studying it on my computer monitor.

You, too, can open up one of the beautiful flowers that are in PICTURES TO PONDER: Inspired Journaling almost fill your screen with it, and then "step into" the image.
