Today's Picture to Ponder Photos
Unidentified fern in the American Orchid Society Gardens and a Trumpet Flower observing it all

Periodically, I see opening ferns and am reminded of how intrigued I am with the way the unfurl from a tightly rolled-up state. You can see a glimpse of this in the lower photo under the bottom right section of the trumpet flower.

I love the lighting and the celebration feeling in the upper photo, enhanced by the reaching up of the fern on the right and the curvy piece of it flowing off to the left.

The trumpet flower in the lower photo may be a silent observer or perhaps it, too, is celebrating.

Self-Reflecting Queries
Where in your life now are there things unfolding?

Can you be with the flow of them, or do you need them to be quick and complete? Which feels better?

I now invite you to look up, or out, from the midst of whatever is happening. Who, like the trumpet flower, is steadily there for you?

Following Up
There were some interesting responses to the Footprint in the Sand, featured without explanation in the last issue. Some came directly to me and two interesting ones, with my response, are posted in the comments on the blog. See sheilafinkelstein.typepad.com/picture_to_ponder

I responded and linked to free-flow writing I did, expressing the feelings elicited in me by the photo. See "Stopped or Moving Forward?" picturepondering.blogspot.com

Reader's Comments
