Today's Picture to Ponder Photo
s
Reflected Clouds and Fireflag Stems, mostly bent, in water at Wakodahatchee Wetlands

When the top photo caught my eye on the monitor, I got the feeling I was looking at a mandala. Given that a few different subscribers recently have written to me mentioning the Mandala work they are doing, I thought this might be an interesting photo to feature.

Rather than Google it and attempt definitions here, for those unfamiliar with mandalas, in the next issue of Picture to Ponder I will post the links for any of you who send me your mandala ones.

In terms of the aesthetics of the top photo, I like the overall feeling and peacefulness of it.

Thinking the second one is poor in composition and interest, I initially chose to include it solely as an illustration for today's observation and queries.

As I look at the picture now, I am finding parts of it much more intriguing than they first were for me.

Self-Reflecting Queries
I've written about "focus" in one form are another in a few recent issues. (See ARCHIVES to check issues by subject.)

As I recall, most examples were about focusing on specifics in our lives. Quite often I find the most beauty in a subject when I zoom in, or macro view, with my photography.

In today's photo it's actually the overview from a little further back that shows the mandala and makes for the more interesting picture. In the lower photograph, where I was evidently attempting a closer view, everything seems to fall apart.

I invite you to look into your life. Are there places where you are attempting to close in on what you think is important and, in fact, things around you seem not to be working. If so, I suggest you step back and relook at the core so that you see ALL of what's central to it.

Look for the unexpected and have fun with it.

For coaches and others who are interested

Yesterday's Through and From the Lens teleclass was great. For the convenience of those who require evening hours I will be doing another free intro class on Thursday, June 14th at 8:00 PM.
